Video Clipper FAQ
How do I cut or trim a video online for free?
Drop your video onto the page, then drag the two handles on the timeline (or type exact start and end times in seconds) to choose the part you want. Pick an output format and press Clip & download — no sign-up, no watermark.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Febler's video clipper runs entirely in your browser using WebCodecs and the open-source Mediabunny library. Your video is read from your device, cut on your device and saved back to your device, so it stays completely private.
How long can the video be?
Up to 59 minutes for now. Longer files are rejected so the clipper stays fast and doesn't run out of memory on phones and laptops.
Can I set the start and end time to the exact second?
Yes. Type seconds directly into the Start and End boxes (decimals like 12.5 and m:ss like 1:30 both work), or drag the handles on the timeline and fine-tune with the arrow keys. The preview jumps to the frame you're setting.
What are the quick-select buttons?
The 30 sec, 1 min, 5 min and 10 min buttons set a clip of that length starting from your current start point — perfect for Shorts, Reels, TikToks and podcast snippets. If there isn't enough video left, the clip slides back to fit.
Which formats can I download?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. MP4 plays everywhere, MOV is ideal for Apple devices and editors, WebM suits the web and MKV is the most flexible container.
Will clipping reduce the video quality?
When your cut lands on a key frame, Febler copies the original frames untouched — zero quality loss. Otherwise only the video is re-encoded at high quality so the cut is frame-accurate.
Is it free? Is there a watermark?
Completely free, with no watermark and no limit on how many clips you make. The only ceiling is your own device's memory.
What will the clipped file be called?
Your original name plus “-febler-ai-clip”, for example holiday.mov becomes holiday-febler-ai-clip.mp4, so you never overwrite the original.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, on recent phones with a modern browser. The timeline handles are touch-friendly and the layout adapts to any screen size.
